3 Quick and Easy Ways to get into Spring

 1.  Get a minimum of 20 minutes of sunlight daily

  • This allows your body to increase its Vitamin D supply naturally!
  • 20-30 minutes daily can produce up to 30,000 IU's of Vitamin D naturally!
  • Sunlight is very helpful in regulating our body's natural circadian rhythms

 2. Exercise outdoors

  • Getting fresh air is unlike any gym experience
  • Seriously, take time to get out and smell the roses!  Fragrances like these not only stimulate the brain, but also act as mood enhancers too!

 3. Dig in the dirt!

  • Don't be afraid to get dirty!  Who says that you have to have a garden like Augusta National or Bellingrath Gardens to have satisfaction!
  • Start simple and purchase a 4-pack of pansies, dianthus, or snapdragons and a little dirt and place them into a 6 inch pot with some potting soil.  The total out of pocket cost is less than $10 dollars, but the reward is priceless!!!  You will have 2-3 months of daily satisfaction, plus they are so cheery to look at with their bright spring colors!
  • Digging in the dirt is natural and it is also very calming to the mind!  My favorite thing to do while gardening is to get my portable radio, set it to my favorite station, make a cup of my favorite tea, put my yard shoes on and let 'er rip!  Whether I am in the mood to do an overhaul or just pot a plant or two...it is the best therapy for the mind, heart, and soul!
